Lancior Wayward

Lancior Wayward / Starlight Dancer

After many battles, many struggles, several times saving the world and a few rare moments of happiness, Chance Under Starlight lost his life fighting for his world and reality. But weeks after Chance's death, a strange man was found on the Bedlam Isles, a man who looked like Chance, had his memories, his abilities, even his signature axes and scarf. But if this was indeed the same man, he was drastically changed. Going by the name now of Lancior Wayward - a corruption of his adopted name of Chance Hayford -  gone were the ragged brown leather clothes of a survivor of Frontier's jungles, gone was the friendly if wild and unstable demeanour. Replacing it was a sinister black and red costume, a leering skull acting as a mask, and a darker, almost alien persona. Lancior would appear to be an aspect of Chance, what Chance may have been if he'd embraced his Fate heritage and let his humanity fade.

Lancior still fights for his world and its reality, effectively continuing the role that Chance once played. But where Chance may have accepted his role, Lancior seems far more defined by it, taking the abilities that Chance developed over years and finding new ways to fight with them, offensive and damaging ways that Chance had always resisted the urge to develop. Lancior claims that if Chance's humanity survived his death and rebirth, it has been seperated from him and lost. However, some months after Lancior's return, an attempt was made to revert Lancior back into Chance. While the attempt failed, it revealed that Chance's humanity had indeed survived. Unfortunately, it has manifested as a seperate aspect to Lancior, calling itself the Starlight Dancer, and contains all of Chance's emotions, drives and passions, but none of his control. So far, it has only emerged briefly, but has proved to be wild and unstable, apparently unable to seperate concepts such as love and empathy from masochistic suffering or sadistic torture.

With the depths of his disturbed psyche increasingly becoming obvious, this tormented soul walks ever closer to breaking point.
