Emily Beecham

Major Emily Beecham, Officer in Charge

Emily was born and bred in Salem and believes in God and the church, her belief wavers slightly however of the topic of witches, she believes they exist and the church is looking after it's followers by getting rid of them, she just isn't sure they have the definition of the words "witch", "good" and "evil" quite right yet.

Emily had always had a good eye for distance, but as she reached her late teens it became apparent her friends thought her amazing talent for finding things and people that they were looking for was a little out of the usual. Emily herself began to question things and one night in a Salem tavern got slightly drunk and ended up talking about "possiblities" and "future" with a recruiting officer. (Emily's parents both still alive were quite content for her to go off with the army, they'd always felt she'd drawn a little too much attention from the church at times and it would be safer for her to leave Salem.)

She was trained as an artillerist and quickly found herself able to target extremely accurately, as well as identifying the weak points in the enemy's defences.

Emily is extrememly scientific in everything she does, there's a calculation to explain almost everything and if there isn't then it must be magic, she's not quite sure what magic is but she's sure that given time it can be explained scientifically, and if it can't then it must be trickery or evil. (She's extremely stubborn on this point and is also superstitious about anything that she can't explain properly and usually avoids it until she can.)

Emily is extrememly wary of anyone from Salem, unless they are in the UKA, as they are too suspicious. She avoids them at all costs knowing that the friends she's made in the URKA all have reasons as good as her to join the army and leave Salem.

She enjoys army life, they feed her, they give her clothes, no one bothers her about much, they provide her with cannon to use and most importantly no one thinks anything about her exceptional eyesight.
