The Magi

These are powerful sorcerers and summoners of demons and Djinn. It is hard to tell if this is an actual group as there is often more than one person claiming to be the leader. Despite this and an often-fragmented hierarchy, the Magi are often quick to support each other in the face of external threats to themselves.

Needless to say, the summoning of demons and Djinn makes them a prime target for the Mutawah. If it were not for their immense power and policy of attack one Magi, attack us all, the Mutawah would probably have wiped them out by now.

Magi used to often be found working for caravans or at oases where they summon protection for an exorbitant fee.

A branch of the Magi called the Mentary and are based in Akawiya Usala. They are a group dedicated to using the magical resources of Dust to enslave the elements and Djin into machines. They work directly for Caliph Khalil and are considered by many the future of Dust, believing they will bring prosperity and wealth. They are despised by other Magi who see them as 'not true Magi'.

These tensions reached a point of no return in April 15AU when the Magi declared the Mentary were no longer Magi and promptly the two groups declared war on each other.

In response the Caliph declared the Magi to be Outlaws in the land of Dust.
